I'm writing to complain about the refund checks from State Farm. On 05/09/2022, I called the company and was given incorrect information, essentially being told that the check was in the mail and I would have to wait. I called and spoke with Marie, who provided me with a phone number to contact right away. If I phoned this number, I would get the status of my check, according to ********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** Imagine my astonishment when I dialed the number and was connected to the Michigan Department of Financial Services, who, I tell you, does not have any information about the status of my check. The State Farm representative I spoke with was really helpful and provided me with a shortlist of items that State Farm needed to provide me with regarding my refund check. T**** **** was on the other end of the line when I phoned State Farm again. She was a beautiful girl who was completely honest with me and explained that they were given the 800 number as mentioned above and an email (which is also for the DIFS). She told to provide that information to clients regarding refund checks. I requested to be transferred to a manager for a more detailed response. After a long wait, I was transferred to ****** *****, who informed me that I could file a formal complaint with them and that the investigation would take five or more days. I told her that this was unacceptable because the State of Michigan had previously said that this was a requirement. The state of Michigan, ***** continued, had not been "clear" in the requirements they needed to follow. I informed her that the state had been quite explicit and that it was amazing that no other company in Michigan had gotten it right except State Farm. ***** then advised me to call my agent's office to confirm my check had been cut. I told her that she could do something helpful and call herself and that I would gladly wait. ***** put me on hold and dialed my agent's number, where I spoke with Todd, who informed me that all refund checks had been cut on 04/29/2022 and were now "waiting on the mail," whatever that means.

I recently purchased a new vehicle, delivered in June 2021. My new agent ***** ****** office **** ****** retired) sent me new insurance cards in January 2022. It was a card for my 2019 automobile. I called the office to alert them that the wrong card had been sent to me. I explained that the card had the year 2019 on it, but it should have my KIA 2022. That's when I discovered my automobile wasn't covered. I was moved to customer service. She then informed me that my 2022 automobile was uninsured and that my insurance could not be backdated under any circumstances. I obtained coverage for my KIA 2022 on January 27, 22. I was surprised and grateful to God that I had not been in an accident. I then requested a refund, claiming that I had been charged for a car that I no longer owned. Mrs. ******'s office attempted to help me with this.

The dealership sent the bill of sale and forwarded to the underwriter. Since then, they have failed to refund my money, claiming that I owe money. Her office advised me to register a complaint. I made a phone call and filed a complaint. I spoke with ******, a young lady. She then proceeded to tell me that she would be unable to return my money. She can, however, retroactively apply my policy. I told her I didn't want her to backdate my policy; all I wanted was a refund of my money. I was advised that my policy could not get backdated to June 2021, but I now have coverage on my automobile as of January 27, 22. Now, I've heard two distinct stories. I stated that I would like to speak with someone in a position of power. I was advised by the underwriter that I would need to submit a complaint with the South Carolina Department of Insurance. She "indirectly," told me she would tell them it was just a blunder on their part, and the outcome would be in her favor. She was trying to backdate my policy throughout the session. For the past 40 years, I've been a State Farm customer. My insurance has never lapsed because I have always paid my bills on time. This is the first time State Farm has behaved in such an unappealing and rude manner. Please be reasonable and refund my funds.

After criticizing me on the phone for being "dumb" and requiring clarification on a document I received from an adjuster, our state farm agent suggested we find another agency. We've been in this house for almost two years and have hired an independent appraiser. We're told we don't have it. "You have that right," she says, "and now you're being asked to write a sworn declaration as proof of loss." I worked for them for seven years. They begin with low rates and gradually increase them yearly, particularly for homeowners' insurance. When you bundle, do you think you're saving money? Reconsider your position.

Your homeowner's insurance rate will increase by 35 percent if you delete any part of your "bundle."

Now take a good look at your homeowner's insurance coverage. What do you think you see?

There will be a plethora of gimmicks on display. Gimmicks, often known as gotchas, are exactly what they sound like.

For example, coverage for heating oil, even if you don't have any. Furs, too. What, there aren't any furs? Let's talk about guns, shall we? No firearms, either? Next, there's credit card fraud protection, even if your bank or anything with the Visa or Mastercard brand already covers you. People, read your credit card agreements.

These "extras," according to State Farm Insurance, are all free. Really???

When did insurance firms start providing free services? Do any of you do volunteer work? State Farm doesn't either. It's all a bunch of tricks, and State Farm claims that they're included in their plans by default and that there's no way to opt-out.

When that happens, it's time to cut State Farm out of the equation.

They could adapt their slogan to, "State Farm is there, like a terrible neighbor.
