People of Orange, Texas, boarded their homes, prayed for the best, while
Laura passed some 30 miles eastwards in the center of Hurricane. On the
morning of August 27, 2020, the damage left behind was revealed by the
rising sun. Individuals and companies have lost rooftops but did expect worse.
Laura has been slammed on the coast by winds of 150 mph at 1 a.m. by the
National Hurricane Centre. The 400-person community about 30 miles southeast
of Orange is the Category 4 hurricane near Cameron, Louisiana. Forecasters
expected a weakened Laura in states far away from the coast to cause widespread
flash flooding. After the passage of the Hurricane Laura, Clean-up continued
Friday in Orange, Texas, causing some damage to the area. Most 85,000
inhabitants of Orange County remains powerless. Orange County Emergency
Management Office said 6,000 employees tried to reinstate the area's
power. The Hurricane smashed power lines, power stations and the entire
power grid appeared to have been damaged. The town of Orange was the most
damaged by the Hurricane in all the county towns.
