Sales reps responsibility
Sales representative insurance is general liability insurance. If a salesperson
(or the insurance agent) flies to meet customers or prospects, he's
at risk. General liability insurance or general commercial liability (CGL)
addresses the business's accident lawsuits, medical expenses, and
property harm. You're not guilty, just suspected. It can happen when
you attend a conference, visit clients in an office, or even go out to
lunch with them. It can occur if a client slips or falls on his on your
premises, or even trips to something you left on the road.
Suppose you're at a client's place, dropping something on a piece
of equipment or computer. Oops, property loss occurred. You're responsible.
A sales rep's happening is less likely, but if he left anything behind,
he left the venue, and someone got hurt.
Advertising accidents
Inadvertently misrepresented pricing or infringed copyright. Personal injury;
you feel relaxed enough with the client to say something defamatory to
others, and it fires on you. That's a personal injury. By the way,
as I describe in a different post, it's different from the attorney's
concept of personal injury, the "body injury" of the insurance
industry. Personal injury involves libel, defamation, false conviction,
unfair eviction, and discrimination. Note, one must be accused of causing
a desire to protect oneself that costs money.
