USAA is one of the world's WORST insurance providers. A USAA member struck me at a stoplight. She pushed my car afoot, destroying my bumper and causing my gas gauge to cease working because my gas tank was under my bumper. The gauge stopped working when something happened to the sensor. Fortunately, it wasn't punctured. The woman was issued a ticket as a result of the mishap. USAA was initially friendly and accommodating, supplying me with a rental car and allowing me to store my car at a shop closer to my home. My bumper had been dented, and my gas gauge had stopped working, indicating that something was wrong with my gas tank, as I had constantly notified them. That's something I've repeatedly told them. "Don't worry, everything will be OK!" it had said. That's correct!! The store indicated that they had previously worked with USAA and usually have no problems, but that they are being tough this time.

The auto shop owner told me that the Adjuster treated him badly and that she didn't believe him. A little bump from behind will not accomplish this, nor will it cause the gauge to stop working. "It doesn't matter what he claims; there's no proof it stopped working because of the hit," she added. It's not something we're going to pay for. "Are you serious? Before I was hit, my car had been well-maintained, and everything was in good order.

"There is no proof it was the hit," they constantly told me when I called. What else may have caused it to shut off shortly before I was hit? They no longer send people out to look at cars; instead, they call and ask for photographs. The auto shop submitted images, but these were deemed inadequate evidence that the hit caused the gauge to cease working. OMG!!!

All I want is for my car to return to its previous state before I was hit and for my gas gauge to work properly. It's as simple as that.

As a result, the war has begun. I'm not about to give up without a fight. Whether or not I need to engage a lawyer makes no difference to me. I'm not paying because I was the one who was hit. I'm also going to boast about how bad USAA is all over the place, including on Facebook, Twitter, in the local paper, and, if necessary, on the radio. I'll even put up flyers if necessary. I want everyone to know this company is a disgrace since it does not stand behind anyone for anything.

My car was in my father's name, and when he filed for bankruptcy, I was told I could reduce my payments because the car was included. I received a letter demanding $3,000 in 9 days, or my car would be repossessed!!! Why wait so long to speak up, or why not help with the investigation into Alma and the information she's giving customers? I will never do business with a company that claims to be for its customers again.

If you're an insured person and someone comes into your home, steals a key from the wall, posts images of your belongings (including your family pet) on the internet. Then texts admitting to breaking into your home and stealing your property, USAA will do nothing except authorize the crime. They don't care whether you've been a long-time customer. My car was stolen by USAA, who claimed it would be taken to a "local facility for inspection," but it ended up at an auction shop outside my county. They stated that the car was not totaled and would be examined before being hauled. Despite this, hours before the tow truck arrived, I received an email notification that my car had been deemed totaled. I inquired about the email declaring my car totaled before the tow truck arrived. They informed me that the email had been issued in error, that I should disregard it, and that they only took it to be inspected. They then charged me a fine for not removing my license plate. They also wanted to charge me a fee for the "storage" of my car at the auction site. They gave me such a low price on my car that I can't afford to buy a new one without taking out a loan. They sent me comparable cars that weren't for sale and were based on "historical records," which don't consider currently used car inflation. All of the similar cars I sent them were rejected, and I was never told why, and I was told I couldn't talk to anyone who knew why. They boosted the offer by $150 after a month of seeking to reach an agreement. $150 more, I'll say it again. Every USAA representative I talk with on the phone claims that I will receive a call regarding new offers, but I never do, and when I do call, the person on the other end of the line never seems to be aware of these false promises. Every USAA representative I've spoken with has flattered me and lied to me. They also promised to return goods from my car that were accidentally left behind, but they never did. They just cared about stealing my money after I was in a terrible automobile accident and lost my beloved car (thank goodness I'm still alive).

I've been a USAA member for more than 20 years. I recently scraped my car into a concrete pole while parking at a gas station and driving 1-2 mph, resulting in paint scratches that were deeper than the clear coat and necessitated professional repair. I called USAA to let them know what was going on, but I also told them I was going to get body shop quotes to see if I wanted to pay for it myself because I was planning to sell the car soon. A week or two later, I got a call from USAA asking if I wanted to finish the claim. I informed them that I would be paying out of pocket and that they were not required to do so. I then received an email claiming that the matter had been closed because I "was not pursuing the claim," to quote. After selling the automobile, I contacted to cancel my vehicle insurance, and the representative tried to offer me 'nonowner' coverage. During the quote process, he informed me that I had a record of an at-fault crash! He transfers me to a claims agent, who informs me that, even though there was NO CLAIM. They did not pay a penny, and that there was no police report, no ticket, and nothing - ZERO - other than my calling in good faith to inquire about the possibility of filing a claim, USAA recorded the information I provided as an at-fault accident for the next three years. I told the agent that all I'd learned from this experience was to lie to them in the future. In my opinion, they should be humiliated and ashamed, as should those who implemented this policy.

I spent 23 years in the Infantry. I've been a member of USAA since 2000 and have life insurance via them. While on active duty, I went to the hospital on post to talk with a mental health professional. I was told that seeking help and talking to someone was fine, but I was misinformed. When I attempted to renew my life insurance with USAA, I was denied, with a letter saying that I sought medical advice as to the cause. USAA makes a lot of noise about their military support, but this is a lie. They use this tactic to urge you to join. Consider this bank or what you say to them; I went to the post commander and handed over the letter to show why soldiers are scared to ask for help. Those who care about you punish you and put you on the out.

I've been a USAA member for nearly 40 years and have only ever filed one claim for my daughter and cost less than $3,000. I've always made all my payments on time (banking, credit cards, home insurance, auto insurance, and so on). I couldn't log in because they had computer issues (probably due to a system change), and it said I needed to contact them. I was told I was a couple of weeks late paying my auto insurance. It was canceled after phoning THREE times (after 20+ minutes, the assistant could not assist, and I was directed to call back later) and going through all the data from scratch (even though they say I should have been). I paid what I owed and had my insurance reactivated at that point, but they told me that because it was late (THEIR COMPUTER ISSUES WERE THE REASON), I had to pay the entire amount up front instead of monthly as I had done previously. They were ineffective and claimed their system was just set up in this manner. It didn't matter that I'd worked for them for nearly 40 years as a cash cow. Before this, I had to call MULTIPLE times because they were messing up my banking account with another family member who was never a part of it. Remembering that each call will take you at least 30 minutes. Anyway, I switched all of my banking and insurance to a different company that was significantly less expensive than USAA. Take a look at how they're rated overall. They've become worse, and their customer service is appalling! So much for the care of our heroes and their families. Believe me when I suggest that you should do some research and read some reviews. USAA WILL NOT BE THERE WHEN YOU NEED THEM THE MOST.

I've been a USAA member for 21 years and am quite unsatisfied with the organization. "There's nothing I can do for you," the customer service representative said when I called about a problem with my auto insurance. So you're willing to lose a member who has been with you for 21 years and has bank accounts, credit cards, and auto insurance? She stated once more, "There's nothing I can do." I'm quite upset and will look for another bank to bank with right now.
