Disappointing News from State Farm

Very discouraging first post LaDonna, I doubt anyone has seen any $$$$ from State Farms alleged refunding of premiums. In these struggling times we need to demand that insurance companies uphold their promises regarding these policies.

Consumer Complaint:

I was in a car accident with another driver covered by State Farm insurance. I was turning right in front of their insured, and they hit me because they were traveling too fast and couldn't stop when they saw me making a slow right turn (as my car would have scraped the entry), so he veered to the right and slid into the side of my car. State Farm refused the claim. How do you deny a claim when someone hits you from behind? That scenario bothers me tremendously. Their insured's story was impossible to believe. I've heard numerous complaints concerning State Farm's failure to settle claims. Now I have firsthand knowledge of a claim that was completely reasonable. I believe their adjusters require significant training in what is and are not possible. It's quite aggravating and upsetting.

Consumer Complaint:

My accident happened on November 21, and it took me until May to find a body shop with a new fender, North Port Auto Body, to do my repairs, for which I spent a total of $1,330.00. Also included are my front-end bra and the damaged wheel and shipping and tax. According to my calculations, I should be receiving a $1,367.71 check. I received a check for $1,482.51, plus $974.45 for Swansons repairs, for $355,56. The amount for N Port auto body is $1,330.01, less $355,56, for $974.45, plus 109.76 for the bra and $265,00 plus tax and $18.50 for the wheel, not counting shipping.

Consumer Complaint:

An uninsured joy rider totaled my car and I had to fight for uninsured coverage even though it was available. State Farm then offered me an incorrect replacement value and lied about pre-existing damage. They gave me a price that didn't include the extras on my car and claimed I had substantial pre-existing damage, which was completely false - even claiming I had bare tires when I had proof they were brand new! I couldn't photograph all of the car's condition points before it was shipped to the shop, so I had no method of disputing the condition valuation. I halved the money I was given.

Horrible company to be in. I would not suggest it in the least. All of the reviews on this site are from customers who have never had any problems. When you have real problems, real reviews appear. I had a totaled vehicle, and I can tell without a certain that State Farm was not helpful. They demonstrated that they couldn't care less about what had happened by doing everything they could to avoid paying me the full worth of my automobile (including by lying about my pre-existing condition).

Consumer Complaint:

When my husband attempted to turn left from the turn lane, our van was struck by a pickup truck. While the spouse was standing, the pickup collided with our van on the right. That is, the pickup driver's fault is unmistakable. Fortunately, no one was injured. The pickup driver started immediately after the accident that he was to blame and that his insurance company would cover everything. He displayed his insurance card but refused to provide his contact information. My spouse contacted the authorities. The police department filed a report. We later uploaded the police report, revealing that the pickup driver was at fault.

The accident's cause then hid, refusing to answer his insurance company's calls (State Farm). When he eventually answered, the pickup driver informed his insurance that everything was backward, that my husband refused to let him through, and that the accident was my husband's responsibility. State Farm sided with its client without even consulting the police report! We have our insurance, but we will now have to pay the deductible because this collision was not our fault. Our insurance company will sue state Farm. It was impossible to believe that such savage behavior by the State Farm was permitted in a civilized country.

Consumer Complaint:

State Farm discriminates against people with a medium to poor vantage score and a low income. They won't even give you a quote unless you have "excellent credit," as they define it. Please keep a safe distance from them.

A State Farm customer destroyed my mailbox. He drove away, and when he did, my neighbor snapped a photo of his automobile. The claim department refuses to believe that this youngster broke my mailbox even though I took multiple photographs. This kid was reported to the police department. You're screwed if you're not a State Farm customer.

I've been a client for more than 40 years and had only filed a few claims until I was hit by a car two years ago. My severe brain damage is still bothering me. Because the payment they provided did not cover the first medical bill, I filed a lawsuit. They have denied reimbursement for valid medical services that I have had to pay out of pocket or use my health insurance company for over the last two years. I will never get compensated for my loss due to the amount of coverage the defendant has via State Farm, but their lawyers are still dragging me to their specialists, who are, of course, in support of State Farm. I ALWAYS FELT SAFE because I paid greater premiums to have a renowned insurance company. But now, despite their assertion that "State Farm is there," I warn that they are not.

I was generally satisfied with my State Farm Insurance until I received a call from the agent recently informing me that they now need to assign my son to a vehicle to collect an additional $47 per month from me. "That's what State Farm wants us to do," I was told when I inquired why. For quite some time, my son has been an unassigned driver. In reality, it was set up that way by State Farm. State Farm has failed me greatly.

A State Farm driver rear-ended me. It's entirely her fault. Since their motorist hit me, I expected a devoted team to repair the car. The service I received from State Farm was abhorrent!!!! After 15 hours on hold, I was told, "Oh, that's not my department, let me transfer you," and then I was put on hold for another 30 minutes. I was given the first phone number to call before being rerouted. All of this occurred while I was supposed to be assisting my family in decorating their Christmas tree and putting up lights. Instead, I did what I could while waiting with a headset on. Then, once I agreed that they would deal with them, they paid me instead of the body shop.

Their so-called "all-in-one" app has been pooping for four days. Because of their "crap," I could not email any images of the damage, and the claim status remained unchanged for nearly a week. State Farm is not a company I would recommend to anyone. They don't give a damn and treat me like garbage. So kiss my farm in the back of the state. Your company must relocate to a sewage treatment facility since it is nothing but **!!!!

Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever They don't cover or pay for their insured driver. Artists who take advantage of others. Even when their insured motorist drove by us, almost killing one of us, parts flying from the state farm car insured struck us and nearly killed the other. State Farm assumes no responsibility. Run. State farms should not be purchased. They are swindlers.

We were parked at a traffic signal when an uninsured motorist crashed upside down in the rear of our vehicle. The money provided by the other driver's insurance and the 14K offered by State Farm, which covers half of the medical expenditures, does not include pain and suffering, and our understanding is that the insured coverage is 250/500. For almost 35 years, I've been a customer with all of my house, life, and auto insurance. What a great idea to reward your loyal consumers.

I needed auto insurance a few years ago, so I applied with State Farm. I put down a deposit of more than $400. State Farm accepted the deposit and then told me they couldn't give me insurance due to a glitch, but they kept the deposit. What happened after I complained to the state of New Jersey? Nothing. Do You Want to Be a Good Neighbor? Really?

Henderson, Nevada —- Brendon ** (BW) Owner/Agent/Clown for State Farm. You won't be able to match my State Farm (SF) experience since no insurance business or agent has ever done or would ever do this to a client. When I called Brendon ** for a change of cars, I had ten years of rental and five years of auto insurance with SF, and he terminated my old policy and issued a new policy and proof of insurance for my new car. The DMV wouldn't accept his proof of insurance, so I spent the next three hours with the Toyota owner, a DMV employee, and her manager, while Brandon's office looked for him but couldn't find him.

Because I boasted that Brendon would fix it before daylight, the DMV felt pity for my poor agent and me and issued me new plates. What would your insurance agent and office do if they were in your shoes??? I sent Brendon a polite text the next day thanking his trainees for attempting to contact him, and he ignored me for ten weeks (90 days) until our country collapsed, at which point the DMV suspended my registration and attempted to fine me $500. State Farm Corporate did nothing to assist. Brendon then pulled his poor me, I'm ** racial card to mask his foolishness, and SF fell for it. Did I mention that I'm 68 years old, have been paralyzed since birth, and die of lung disease? Incredibly, you may read and view as much or as little as you choose!!!

This is the worst corporation ever. I had insurance, but my agent Victoria and her crew and State Farm misled me. I've never dealt with an insurance company that was so disorganized and deceptive. Because of their inept personnel, the damages to my vehicle are not being reimbursed. I was assured that submitting documentation would be sufficient to retain my insurance in good standing, but this was false. Do yourself a favor and avoid State Farm.

I'm not a State Farm member, but I did assist someone who was. My cameras captured video of an automobile accident and photographs for the policyholder, police report, and other purposes. As a result, State Farm will be unable to obtain media content in 2021. I sent a dropbox link to massive video files and photographs because the email was the only option. Their information technology appears trapped in the 1980s, listening to Pink Floyd. I was eager to assist, but there was also the option of uploading it to YouTube. "Um... okay," says the narrator. No, I don't use social media for this type of thing. So my jaw is dropped, my eyes are wide, and I'm blown away, and they're all fine with it. They thanked me and hung up. I sympathize with State Farm policyholders.

I've been phoning these criminals for three months to fix an accident. They haven't phoned, there hasn't been a resolution, and 0 answers to every call. Hire an attorney on the first day to save time. Next up is BBB

For more than two decades, I've been a State Farm customer. I recently received a call from my local office informing me that to preserve my auto insurance discount, I must return my homeowner insurance to them. Because State Farm pulled out of Florida after a large hurricane, I had to get my homeowner's insurance elsewhere (I did NOT file a claim after this storm). In any case, I don't respond well to threats, no matter how veiled or smooth they are, so instead of returning to State Farm, I switched my auto insurance to my agent, who also assisted me with my homeowner's insurance when State Farm ran out and left me stuck without coverage.

Consumer Complaint:

This agency, as well as State Farm, should be avoided. They are useless in any situation. When it comes to difficulties and issues, they are extremely unhelpful. If you have a "Payment plan," they will charge you a different amount each month without providing any reason. When asked why each month's payment number differs, they don't respond with anything more than a promise to look into it. They never do, and they never respond to your emails. Because of their negligence, this agency and State Farm have cost me ten days of work and forced my son to miss ten school days. They have no idea what they're doing, and they'll waste your time.

After 31 years with Liberty Mutual, I felt switching to a local agency would be smart. I was completely mistaken. Their customer service is appalling, and they refuse to respond to anyone who has a problem or an issue. They will gladly provide you with a phone number so that you can try to solve difficulties on your own, but they will not assist you in any way. They avoid dealing with problems and instead rely on the consumer to resolve them. I held insurance with them for 19 months and will not be renewing it due to the agency's lack of assistance and service. Go to a different insurance company that appreciates your business. This firm is unconcerned with your company. There are a lot of insurance businesses out there that appreciate your business. One of them isn't this. You've been warned.

Someone insured by State Farm hit me. Since the claim was submitted, they've done nothing except give me the runaround. They keep claiming they can't get in touch with their insured, even though they've only tried once. Even though their driver was clearly at fault, according to the police report I filed, they are taking their time to decide on liability. Just know that if a State Farm-insured driver hits you, they will try to persuade you to give up, so they don't have to pay the claim to have your car repaired. My bumper is in poor shape, and they don't seem to mind if it's ever fixed.

I was the victim of a hit-and-run by a State Farm-insured driver. Dashcam footage almost pushed them to acknowledge blame. My car's bodywork was excellent. On the other hand, State Farm maintained that the mechanical problems were due to "natural wear and tear." Even though my automobile had been serviced two and a half weeks before the collision and had no mechanical difficulties, that decision was made. The accident was the only thing that happened in between. So, if you're unfortunate enough to be hit by someone insured by State Farm, be prepared for a fact-free decision to deny your claim. State Farm, so much for being a decent neighbor.

Yes, my husband and I did take out State Farm Insurance in the 1970s. We've had a few claims on windshields that our comprehension covered and a couple of claims when pebbles hit the hood of our vehicles on the freeway in all of our years of driving cars. In May 2021, my husband observed that our bumper had been damaged, and our tailgate had two dents. I believe he filed a claim at the end of the month. He then drove the automobile, a 2019 Ford Escape, to a Ford dealership that we had previously used. The total cost of the damage was $2300.

When no one responded, he called our agent's office, where the person at the front desk informed him that they no longer used that dealership. She told my husband to go to the Toyota dealership and download an app to his phone, so he could take images of the damage and send them to the claims department. He went to Toyota, who gave him a $1600 estimate to rebuild the bumper and repair the two dents. He presented the bid to the State Farm Claims department and included information on our vehicle. VIN, mileage, and all photos are included.

The claims department phoned us about a week later. "We can take care of the bumper minus your deductible," the lady continued, "but the two dents on the tailgate above the bumper were not consistent damage to match the bumper damage." These facts amused us. To begin with, we were 70 years old and spent 90% of the year at home due to the epidemic. Second, we only drive one automobile for 4500 miles per year. Everything was provided to us, including groceries. We visited Centerpoint Medical Center frequently because I was undergoing pre-treatment for a problem with my left knee and eventually agreed to major surgery, which included a total knee replacement on June 22, 2021. We also had other appointments this year. I'm pretty much stuck at home.

I told her to look at the vehicle's damage history and the mileage we put on it each year. She informed me that my car had been involved in two accidents, which I categorically denied. She didn't believe me and persisted in her denial of our allegation. With our driving history and extremely low miles, I asked if we should even consider it, to which she replied, "Absolutely never." When I asked if someone from the claims department could look at our car, she replied it wasn't necessary because she had our pictures and had been doing this for 27 years, and she restated her argument. What can you do when a nasty lady in a know-it-all mindset tells you that your single claim isn't fulfilling the damage consistency requirements? My husband owned a body shop for nearly 20 years when he was younger, and he was stunned. Look at our amazing track record and tell me that once more.

She also said the dents were rusted. My husband then stopped her in her tracks and claimed that our automobile had no trace of rust on it. He went unnoticed by her. We have a $500 deductible, so they may be penalizing people with lower deductibles. My Grain Valley agent tried unsuccessfully to contact them. My husband drove our car to the Toyota dealership and told the body shop that we were having a dispute with State Farm and that he wanted the car repaired/replaced regardless of whether he had to pay out of pocket. I had just returned home from my Total Knee Replacement and needed a car to get to my orthopedic surgeon's follow-up visit and twice-weekly PT therapy. When my husband, John, went to pick up our car after nine days, he was told that the dealership had been directed to put a hold on the repairs, which we had never told them about.

We're up against claims, an agent, and a dealership. What options do we have at this point? I'll never trust State Farm again, and I've told my older children that they should get new coverage if they have State Farm. Meanwhile, my homeowner's insurance was due, and my escrow account was debited $2000. I'm looking for new car insurance and reviewing all of the reviews. Thank you for allowing me to express myself. This has all been a joke; all we want is for our automobile to be fixed. Right now, we'd trade it in, but inventory is so low that we can't acquire the color or features we want

Someone insured by State Farm hit my brand new Hybrid Toyota Camry XLE 2020. State Farm repaired the automobile and did an excellent job. State Farm has been quite helpful to me. According to CarMax and Toyota Dealership appraisals, the automobile now has an accident record worth around USD 26,500. Due to a lack of vehicle chips in the industry and low dealership inventory, the minimum market value for a pre-owned Hybrid Toyota Camry XLE in the Year 2020 with over 11,000 kilometers was above USD 30,500 in late June early July 2021. **Here's the link: The same automobile will be worth more than USD 32,000 if it has less than 8,000 miles.

Now, even if my car is fixed, it was previously damaged. Therefore I don't want to drive it and instead want to acquire a identical car but does not have an accident record. I'll have to pay at least USD 32,000 for a pre-owned Hybrid Toyota Camry XLE from 2020 that hasn't been in an accident. State Farm gave me USD 2,200 but refused to offer me a reasonable market value for a car of comparable condition that has never been in an accident.

It is not my fault that someone insured by State Farm hit my brand new car, which has now lost a significant value. Now the State Farm agent in charge of this case is coming up with all kinds of reasons why he shouldn't provide me a fair decreased market value for my automobile. Until I started a process to evaluate the car's lower worth, State Farm had never spoken anything about it.

State Farm did not want me to be aware of the process and hence refused to cover my car's lowered worth. State Farm is handling its consumers in an extremely unfair and dishonest manner. I never expected State Farm to go so low-cost that it would jeopardize its reputation and customer trust. Is there anyone else who has had a similar experience with State Farm or other insurance companies? What could be done differently to ensure that insurance companies honor their obligations and respect the American working class? Is it necessary for me to go to court? What advice would you give?

Consumer Complaint:

I moved back in with my parents when they grew elderly. My father persuaded me to cancel my excellent USAA insurance in favor of their state farm insurance, which they have had for decades. They assured me that State Farm had never failed them. I got a flat a few days later in a rough neighborhood of Atlanta at 3 a.m. I had to wait about an hour to speak with a customer support representative and arrange for assistance. Roadside assistance is included in the policy. When I enquired about the aid, she stated that it was not the type of support I was looking for. She then demanded $100 from me before offering me any assistance. Did I mention that I was alone, a lady, and in a dangerous neighborhood?

She then informed me after I had handed over the funds, and she made me wait for confirmation that the funds had been received. She estimated that roadside assistance would take 45 minutes to arrive at my car and fix my flat tire. 2. I have not heard from anyone after an hour and a half. State Farm has not contacted me. Roadside assistance has not contacted me. When I eventually contacted for help, they indicated it would take at least another hour. USAA has never handled me like this before. They would never have left me to remain alone with a flat tire for nearly four hours. And they would not have demanded $100 from me before offering any form of assistance. What do you think I'll be doing in a few hours? I'm phoning USAA again right now to reinstate my insurance. And I'll tell everyone about it. I'm going to shout it from the rooftops. I'll respond to it in any way possible. State Farm is not a good option. They are unconcerned about you, me, or anyone else. They have the industry's worst insurance, even worse than Progressive!

Consumer Complaint:

I've been a State Farm Insurance client for forty years and recently had severe trouble with quotes and billing. I added a classic truck to my policy and received a reasonable quotation under their antique/classic plans. When I got my bill, it said it was for general transportation. I received historic car insurance from a well-known provider and canceled my State Farm policy. The classic truck and another car I owned and sold were billed on the next statement. After deducting the two vehicles that I didn't need to keep covered, I paid my payment.

This is something I've discussed with my agency several times. I received a cancellation letter in the mail yesterday, even though I have never been late or allowed my insurance to lapse. When I called the agent, I was advised that State Farm was 15 to 30 days overdue with their payments. They are late on billing and are about to terminate a forty-year customer. I'll be looking for insurance shortly. AVOID IT.

The awful firm with abysmal ethics. When I slowed down to let a bus passenger cross the pedestrian line, a car rear-ended me at an intersection. Because the automobile that rear-ended me also had State Farm Insurance, State Farm declined to accept my claim, claiming that I should have just driven past the pedestrian line instead of slowing down. My sister bought a $19,000 coverage from the Omar Juarbe office to cover our condo. Our representative Dan ** has given us contradictory information, lied about what we were entitled to, and then pretended to be irritated by our confusion. Meanwhile, it's been three months since the fire, and they still haven't figured it out. We contacted corporate and were directed to eight different departments since no one seemed to grasp the coverage. It's completely unbelievable. Please don't make the same error we did when using State Farm.

On March 2, 2021, a State Farm-insured driver turned left in front of me when I got a green light. I had to call them back a month later to determine that they assumed full responsibility. I was told by the agent that I could go to whatever store I wanted. NOW THEY SAY... if I go to an IN-NETWORK body shop, they will only cover the job and pay for my rental car. They changed their story, and I've started filing a complaint with the Insurance Commissioner.
